Dear ISEP members and sympathizers,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am delighted to invite you to participate in the 16th Meeting of the Society for Evolutionary Protistology (ISEP 16) which will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, August 1-5, 2006.

This meeting should provide opportunities for exchange of the latest ideas in the following fields: (i) origin and evolution of the eukaryotic cell; (ii) evolution of mitochondria and plastids; (iii) protein targeting within the eukaryotic cell and its evolution; (iv) evolution of major eukaryotic groups involving parasitic protozoans, and (v) general phylogeny of eukaryotes. The rich scientific programme will include a minisession devoted to protist genomes and their evolution and several lectures by outstanding researchers in different fields of evolutionary protistology. Moreover, we will offer an attractive social programme.

We hope that you will be able to attend the 16th ISEP meeting and are looking forward to welcoming you in Wroclaw.
